Measurement positioners
ACC Engineering & System Department specializes in designing and manufacturing of servo-driven multi-axis systems dedicated to civil and military applications such as:
- Antenna measurement positioners
- Scanners
- Dielectric or streamlined masts
ACC measurement positioners are designed with important safety factors which allow them having the specified torques while keeping their accuracy during many years.
They are designed to outdoor operating (temperature -20°C up to 50°C) The positioner frames are made of aluminium or steel according to models. They undergo marine quality standard anticorrosion treatment. Antenna control units (ACU) allow positioners having long life expectancy thanks to their overload protection function and wrong manipulation filtering.
Characteristics of Standard positioners
The following characteristics are dedicated to A serie positioners and show the capacities of the different range of our measurement positioners.
The presentation of our standard positioners will allow you visualizing their range. For more information, you can download our catalogue here
Standard radome and antenna measurement positioners PA/PR
Radome and antenna measurement positioner range is especially designed to carry out all types of antenna and radome measurements. Three positioner ranges are available according to the antenna and radome diameters and loads. The measurement positioners are composed of two positioners connected by mechanical structure.
The radome positioner is located in the lower part of the structure with its 2 axes, roll over azimuth. The antenna positioner is situated in the upper part with its 3 axes, roll over azimuth over elevation. (Figure 1). The positioners are also equipped with horizontal displacement offset axes used to adjust both the converging azimuth axes, the radome and the antenna. These axes can be manual or motorized according to option.
The antenna positioner is in the radome roll but completely independent. Indeed during the radome rotation, the antenna positioner remains fixed, only the axes are coaxial.
All the motorized axes are driven by servo-amplifiers either independently or simultaneously, whereas the azimuth axes of the two positioners by master-slave servo-control.
As an option, an elevation axis can be implemented to allow the displacement of the radome.

Scanners
All our scanners are manufactured according to your specific technical characteristics. The axes can be digitized by engine control and position recopy where the sensor is directly mounted on precision screws.
The frames are made of aluminium according to load constraints.
Having 1 up to 6 axes, our scanners can carry few to hundreds Kgs loads.
Axes are driven by our standard unit controls and simultaneous control of several axes can be carried out for specific applications.

Streamlined mast for RCS measurement
To achieve good radar cross section measurements, ACC I&M can supply streamlined masts that the radar cannot practically detect, a fact which reduces a lot the back scattering of the signals reflected by the target.
Two mast available versions are provided, PM500 and PM1000 according to loads to be carried. For each mast, 3 mast head positioners are supplied and 2 calibration tips as well.
The positioner heads are composed of 2 rotation axes according to the Azimuth over Elevation configuration.
We also provide automatic control units to control in position.
